Submission Guidelines

Please note that from this edition on, LREC solicits FULL paper submissions

  1. Initial Submission

LREC 2020 asks for full papers from 4 pages to 8 pages (plus more pages for references if needed), which must strictly follow the LREC stylesheet.

Each paper must be written in English and submitted through START exclusively as an unprotected PDF.

In addition to the pdf paper itself, the author(s) must also enter a short (no more than 200 words) plain ASCII text abstract which should not include the author/title information (these are entered above in the submission form).

  1. Review & Notification

All submitted abstracts go through a peer-review process (not blind) carried out by the members of the LREC 2020 scientific committee. Each submission is reviewed by three reviewers.

  • Notification of Acceptance or Rejection

Notification of acceptance or rejection is sent by email to the main contact author who is in charge of informing all her/his co-authors. This notification contains the reviewers’ comments and may also recommend a type of presentation different from the one initially chosen by the author(s) at the time of the submission. LREC does not make any difference between Oral and Poster papers.

  • Conference Programme

The LREC 2020 Programme Committee builds the Conference programme from the accepted papers, allocating them to the various Oral and Poster sessions.

  1. Final Papers Submission

The final paper must follow the guidelines provided in the Author’s Kit. Templates in various formats (Word, LibreOffice and LaTeX) are also provided on the conference web site. The final paper must be submitted as an unprotected PDF.

In addition to the pdf paper itself, the author(s) must also enter a short (no more than 200 words) plain ASCII text abstract which should not include the author/title information (these are entered above in the submission form). This abstract is M A N D A T O R Y and will be used to produce the LREC 2020 Book of Abstracts.

All papers must be presented at the conference, whether as Oral or Poster presentations. At least a different author for each accepted paper must be registered to the LREC 2020 by the early registration deadline. Failure to register will result in the cancellation of the paper’s publication in LREC 2020 Proceedings.

  1. Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined by IEEE as « the reuse of someone else's prior processes, results, or words without explicitly acknowledging the original author and source ». Similarity with other published materials, including self-plagiarism, will be checked for all papers submitted to LREC 2020. Papers with a high level of similarity with other published material will be rejected.

  1. Multiple Submissions
  • Submission to other conferences or journals

Authors submitting paper(s) to other conferences, journals or publications must indicate this at submission time. If accepted to LREC 2020, the paper(s) will have to be withdrawn from the other conference, journal or publication. Papers overlapping significantly in content or results with papers that will be (or have been) published elsewhere will not be accepted to LREC 2020.

  • Publication on preprint servers such as arXiv

Preprint servers such as arXiv.org are not considered archival for purposes of submission. Authors must state in the online submission form the name of the preprint server and title of the non-archival version.

With regard to the publication on preprint servers, the LREC 2020 Programme Committee asks every author to respect the following:

  • The original submitted version may be posted at any time, provided that this information is shared with LREC at the time of submission.

  • The accepted version may not be archived before the publication of LREC 2020 Proceedings (at the beginning of May 2020).

  • Citation information is included in the archived version of the final LREC 2020 paper. For instance, in arXiv, the information can be added to the Comments field as follows: Proceedings of Language Resources and Evaluation (LREC), Marseille, France pp xx-xx (2020).
